Privacy Policy — Noor-e-Quran
Effective date: 13 October 2026
Noor-e-Quran (also displayed as Noor E Quran) is provided by Adnan Quraishi. This policy explains how information is handled when you use our Android app to read and listen to the Quran and access prayer times, Qibla direction, reminders, and other Islamic tools.
For privacy questions or requests, contact adnanquraishi00@gmail.com.
1. Information we handle
Information stored on your device
The app stores bookmarks, your last reading position, recent Quran search history, language and text-size preferences, reminder settings, Tasbeeh counters, and the expiry of any rewarded ad-free period on your device. These features do not require an account. Quran searches are performed against content loaded into the app, and recent search terms are stored locally.
The app does not upload these locally saved records to a developer-operated account or cloud-sync service. Your device or operating system may include app data in backups according to its settings.
Location for prayer times and Qibla
With your device permission, the app obtains your location to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. Depending on your permission choice and device capabilities, the location may be approximate or precise.
Latitude and longitude are sent over HTTPS to the AlAdhan / Islamic Network API to provide these features. Requests may also include the date and prayer-calculation method. The provider receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address.
The Android app does not request background-location permission or continuously track your movements. Prayer reminders use calculated times; background audio playback does not require location tracking. Denying location permission limits location-dependent features but does not prevent Quran reading or listening. The app does not explicitly attach these coordinates to advertising requests.
Usage and diagnostics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app use, including app launches and screen navigation. The service may process app-instance identifiers, app interactions, device and operating-system information, and general location inferred from network information.
Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports and diagnostic information, including error details, stack traces, installation identifiers, and device information. The app also attaches device model, manufacturer, device type, and operating-system details to crash reports. These services help us understand usage and diagnose reliability problems.
Advertising information
The app uses Google AdMob for banner, native, interstitial, app-open, and optional rewarded advertisements. Google's advertising SDK may process IP addresses, advertising or app/device identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads, detect fraud, and operate its services. An IP address may be used to infer general location.
Ad personalization and available privacy choices depend on your region, consent, device settings, and Google's applicable policies. Where required, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to present advertising privacy choices before requesting ads. The app displays an Ad privacy choices entry in Settings when the platform requires it.
An optional rewarded ad grants five minutes without ads after the advertising SDK confirms that the reward was earned. The expiry time is stored on your device.
Content requests and communications
Quran text, translations, timing information, and recitation audio are requested from third-party content services. These providers may receive your IP address, requested resource, and connection information when delivering content. Requesting a particular Surah or recitation reveals the content requested to that provider.
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message, and use it to respond and handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your request.
The current app does not require registration, ask for your name or email within the app, or process in-app purchases. It does not request access to contacts, camera, or microphone.
2. How information is used
Information is used to provide Quran content and audio, calculate location-dependent features, save your preferences and progress, schedule reminders, show and measure advertisements, prevent advertising abuse, improve app reliability, and respond to requests.
Where applicable, processing relies on your consent, providing requested functionality, legitimate interests such as diagnostics and fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Device permission for location is separate from advertising privacy choices.
3. Third-party services and disclosures
The app uses the following services:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform | Advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and advertising privacy choices |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | App usage analytics |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting and diagnostics |
| AlAdhan / Islamic Network | Prayer times and Qibla calculations |
| Al Quran Cloud | Quran text and translations |
| MP3Quran and recitation/content delivery servers, including Islamic Network | Audio and recitation timing information |
These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Google may use information for the purposes described in its policies; this policy does not override their practices.

- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Firebase privacy information
- AlAdhan
- Al Quran Cloud
- MP3Quran
Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, protect users and service security, or investigate abuse. When you choose to share a verse through another app, the selected app handles the shared content under its own privacy practices.
4. Permissions and your choices
- Location: Allow, limit to approximate location where supported, or revoke access in Android settings. Prayer times and Qibla may then be unavailable.
- Notifications: Control reminders in the app and notification permission in Android settings. Exact-alarm access, where available, supports timely reminders.
- Audio: Foreground-service and wake-lock functionality allows recitation to continue when the screen is off or the app is in the background. Playback controls appear in a media notification.
- Advertising: Use Ad privacy choices when shown, and review your device's advertising-ID and advertising privacy controls. Limiting personalization does not necessarily remove ads or all advertising-related processing.
- Local records: Remove bookmarks and clear recent search history using the app's controls. Android's Clear storage option removes locally stored app data, including saved progress and settings. Device backups may retain separate copies.
Advertising choices do not automatically turn off Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. The current app does not include a separate in-app switch for these services.
5. Retention and deletion
Locally saved records remain until you remove them through available app controls, clear the app's storage, or otherwise remove the app's local data. Backup copies are governed by your device and backup-provider settings. Expired rewarded ad-free status is no longer used to suppress ads.
Information processed by advertising, analytics, diagnostic, and content providers is retained according to their purposes, service settings, applicable policies, and legal requirements. Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. Analytics retention depends on the configured property settings; provider retention periods may change.
Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not automatically delete information already processed by third parties. Contact us at adnanquraishi00@gmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information we can identify and control, or assistance with an applicable provider request. We may need limited information to verify and locate the relevant records. Some information may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, security, or dispute resolution.
6. Security and international processing
The app uses HTTPS for its content and location API requests and relies on Android protections for locally stored app data. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Third-party services may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Their applicable contractual, technical, and legal safeguards govern those transfers.
7. Children and privacy rights
The app is intended for both children, including children under 13, and adults. The current app does not ask users to submit an age or create an account. Parents and guardians should review device permissions and advertising choices when a child uses the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information that requires action, contact adnanquraishi00@gmail.com.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information; withdraw consent; object to processing; request portability; or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us to make a request. Availability and handling of these rights depend on the information involved and applicable law.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when app features, service providers, or privacy practices change. The revised policy will show an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated where required.
