MPlayer Privacy Policy
MPlayer plays audio stored on your Android device and offers optional online music discovery through Jamendo. MPlayer does not require an account and does not upload your local songs to the developer. Advertising is provided through Google AdMob and privacy choices are managed using Google's User Messaging Platform where required. Firebase is used for aggregated app analytics, crash reporting and remote feature configuration. MPlayer Pro purchases are processed by Google Play.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how MPlayer accesses, uses, stores and shares information when you use the Android application. It applies only to MPlayer and not to websites, services or applications opened through external links.
2. Information MPlayer accesses
Local audio and media information
With your permission, MPlayer reads audio files and related media information available through Android's media library. This can include song titles, artists, albums, duration, file locations and album artwork. This access is used to display your library and play audio on your device.
Local audio files and their metadata are processed on your device. MPlayer does not upload your local songs or local media library to a developer-operated server.
Jamendo online music
When you use online discovery, search or recommendations, MPlayer sends requests directly to Jamendo. Requests can include your search words, selected genres or tags, pagination values, track identifiers, the MPlayer version and a Jamendo application client identifier. Like other internet services, Jamendo can also receive technical connection information such as your IP address.
Advertising and consent
MPlayer uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements and the Google User Messaging Platform SDK to request and manage privacy choices where applicable. According to Google's SDK disclosure, the Mobile Ads SDK can automatically collect and share:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- user interactions, such as app launches, taps and ad views;
- diagnostic and performance information;
- device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available.
Google uses this information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Whether ads are personalized depends on applicable law, your region, your device settings and the privacy choices presented through Google's consent platform.
Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config
MPlayer uses Firebase Analytics to understand aggregated feature usage, Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and non-fatal errors, and Firebase Remote Config to download app and advertising settings without requiring a new app release.
Depending on the Firebase service, device and settings, Google may process app-instance identifiers, app interactions, app version, device model, operating-system information, approximate location, diagnostic logs, crash stack traces, device state at the time of a crash and configuration-request metadata. Firebase services can use an app-instance identifier to associate this information with a particular installation of MPlayer.
MPlayer's custom analytics events use limited categorical values such as screen or list type, playback source, favorite added or removed, ad format, ad placement and numeric error codes. MPlayer does not intentionally send local song names, filenames, file paths, local library contents, Jamendo search text, email addresses or account profiles in custom Firebase Analytics events.
MPlayer Pro purchases
If you purchase MPlayer Pro, Google Play processes the transaction and provides MPlayer with purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock ad-free access and restore the purchase. The developer does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Google handles payment information under its own privacy policy and terms.
Information you provide voluntarily
If you contact the developer by email, the developer receives the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message and attachments. This information is used only to respond, provide support, protect the service or meet legal obligations.
3. Android permissions

4. How information is used
Information is handled for the following purposes:
- providing local and online music playback;
- showing your music library, artwork and playback controls;
- processing Jamendo searches and recommendations;
- displaying, measuring and protecting advertisements;
- understanding aggregated feature usage;
- diagnosing crashes, non-fatal errors and reliability problems;
- downloading remote app and advertising configuration;
- processing and restoring MPlayer Pro entitlement;
- remembering local app, favorite and consent preferences;
- preventing fraud or abuse;
- responding to support requests.
5. Sharing and third-party services
The developer does not sell your local music library or personal information. Information can be processed by the following services when their features are used:
- Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform — advertising, consent, measurement, diagnostics and fraud prevention.
- Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config — aggregated usage measurement, crash and diagnostic reporting, and remote app configuration.
- Google Play Billing — purchase processing, entitlement verification and purchase restoration for MPlayer Pro.
- Jamendo — online catalog searches, metadata, artwork, streaming URLs, recommendations and music licensing information.
- Your browser or selected application — when you deliberately open or share an external link.

6. Storage, retention and deletion
MPlayer stores limited information on your device, such as onboarding completion, interface state, player settings, favorites, cached MPlayer Pro entitlement state and consent information managed by Google's SDK. You can remove MPlayer's local data through Android settings or by uninstalling the application.
MPlayer does not operate user accounts or a developer-hosted database containing your local music library. Data processed by Google, Firebase, Google Play and Jamendo is retained according to their respective privacy policies. Support emails are retained only as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, prevent abuse or comply with legal requirements.
7. Your choices
- Grant or deny audio access and revoke it later in Android settings.
- Enable or disable MPlayer notifications in Android settings.
- Grant or revoke the optional display-over-other-apps permission.
- Manage or delete your Android advertising ID through device settings.
- Use privacy choices presented through Google's consent platform where required.
- Avoid Jamendo search and streaming features if you do not want requests sent to Jamendo.
- Clear MPlayer storage or uninstall the app to delete local preferences.
8. Security
MPlayer uses encrypted HTTPS connections for its configured online services. Local audio remains on your device unless you deliberately share it using another application. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children's privacy
MPlayer is not directed specifically to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly request names, email addresses or account registration information from children through MPlayer. Parents and guardians should supervise device permissions and online features used by children.
10. International processing
Google, Firebase, Google Play and Jamendo may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy policies describe their international data-transfer practices.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when MPlayer's features, SDKs or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
